RECENT DEVELOPMENTS

New Products

We are pleased to have added to our range of "mini" products, which focus on providing high quality data in a small package. Smaller means easier to deploy or fit to underwater vehicles and structures, and it also means that high end sensing technology is now available in a package to suit tighter budgets, without compromising the quality of the data. Follow the links to learn more:

miniCT

Real-time Conductivity and Temperature Sensor

miniCTD

Miniature CTD Profiler

miniSVP

Miniature SVP Profiler

miniTIDE

Self Recording Tide Gauge

Software

Please note that all the latest versions of software for our instruments are available for download under the Support Section of this site. The following programs have been re-compiled to allow installation on PC's running MS Vista:

  • DataLog Express
  • WaveLog Express
  • DataLog 400
  • WaveLog 400
  • BathyLog
  • TMSLog

Calibration Facilities

We have invested heavily in calibration facilities recently, ensuring that throughput can be increased without any compromise in the care taken over the calibration process and the quality of the calibrations we perform:

  • New Class A Deadweight tester
  • 3 x 600 litre calibration tanks, stable to <1mK / minute
  • Three channel Temperature bridge, accurate to 0.4mK
  • Temperature controlled calibration laboratory
  • Water purification system for SV calibration, Conductivity <1µS/cm
  • Laboratory pressure vessels, allowing investigation of sensor performance under pressure
  • Automation of tow tank calibration process for flow measurement

WEEE Regulations

The UK has now fallen into line with other EU countries by implementing legislation covering the disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). The legislation is complex, and not really properly conceived to account for companies operating in the international Business to Business sector, such as Valeport. However, our chief obligations under the legislation are clear:

Like all manufacturers and distributors of electronic equipment within the UK, Valeport is legally obliged to be registered with the Environment Agency as a producer of EEE (Electrical and Electronic Equipment), as of July 2007. Our registration details are available to you on request.

Valeport accepts responsibility for collection (within the UK) and recycling / disposal of all Valeport products supplied directly to UK customers since 13th August 2005.

Valeport accepts responsibility for collection (within the UK) and recycling / disposal of any EEE product supplied to UK customers prior to 13th August 2005, regardless of the identity of the original supplier, provided that Valeport has subsequently supplied a new item of EEE to replace and perform a similar function to the original.

Valeport's obligations with regard to collection, recycling and environmentally sound disposal are carried out through a third party organisation, details of which are available on request.

Valeport have no legally enforceable obligation regarding WEEE from customers outside the UK. Please contact us to discuss the situation as necessary.
