Cakes, surfboards and a chandelier raise money for Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning at Valeport


Every year the members of the team release their inner Mary Berry and bake a fabulous selection of delicious homemade treats to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and this year we didn’t disappoint, not only did we host a mouthwatering bake sale, but a charity auction too!

Valeport attending international conferences


Valeport will be attending 5 international exhibitions and conferences during September and October and will be showcasing their latest techonology and product releases as well as being on hand to answer any technical queries or assist with application issues.

Profiling with SWiFTplus and Connect Software


In early March 2018, an opportunity arose to join the Bristol Port survey team on a survey of the entrance to the city docks. Surveyed twice a year to monitor dredging requirements it gave Valeport the chance to collect sound velocity and turbidity profiles in the lower reaches of the Avon river as it joins the Bristol Channel and further up river where there is a stronger fresh water influence.

Valeport Sponsor Electric Racing Car Team


Valeport sponsor Team Hummingbird, a team from Plymouth High School for Girls, who reached the final of the electric car racing IET Formula 24 Series. The team, made up of keen racers and engineers, progressed through the South West regional heat to qualify for the national finals at the Rockingham Speedway in October.  They had a very successful competition gaining valuable experience and also picking up awards along the way.

Valeport provides impetus to Dart Totnes Amateur Rowing Club with new addition to racing fleet


Valeport, the Totnes-based manufacturer of underwater measuring equipment, has delivered a welcome boost to the Dart Totnes Amateur Rowing Club with the purchase of a new 'racing eight' worth £22,000. The 13.5m composite carbon and glass fibre boat, built by Surrey manufacturer Janousek, has been named Impetus in a champagne ceremony by Valeport Chairman, Charles Quartley.

Valeport’s Robert Dietz Shoots For Success


Valeport is sponsoring one of their machinists, Robert Dietz, as he travels all over the UK and abroard competing in clay pigeon shooting competitions.  Robert’s next event will be the South West Double Rise Championship on 2 September 2017 at North Cornwall Shooting Ground. Immediately after, Robert will captain the Devon Clay Shooting Team at Down the Line and Single Barrel events on 3 and 9 September respectively.

Valeport Supports Search For New Marine Discoveries


Valeport is supporting a research expedition to unearth new Marine discoveries in the Pacific Ocean. The enterprise will be using Valeport's latest CTD Profiler to expand existing knowledge of Oceans, Marine Biodiversity and Ecosystems. The fastCTD profiler has been designed to deliver the highest quality CTD casts at rapid drop rates and will be used by Dr Sonia Rowley during her expedition to the Pacific Ocean from Aug 2nd until Sept 13th. 

Valeport Achieve Highest International Quality Standards


We are pleased to report that Valeport continues to demonstrate proactive compliance with the highest international quality standards. Following a number of ISO audits we have  successfully updated our certifications to ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management. For the first time in 2017, we have also certified to BS OHSAS 18001, the internationally applied British Standard for occupational health and safety.

Torquay Students Aim to be the First UK Competitors at Global Earth Science Competition


Students from Torquay Girls’ Grammar School have almost reached their goal of becoming the first ever British competitors at the 11th International Earth Science Olympiad where the students’ theoretical knowledge, practical abilities and team work skills will all be tested on major areas of earth sciences including oceanography, geology, geophysics, meteorology, terrestrial astronomy and environmental sciences.

Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning at Valeport


Many cakes and coffees were consumed for a good cause at Valeport's Devon offices last week in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support as part of it's World's Biggest Coffee Morning event. An in house "Bake Off" competition saw Tammy Elliott and Sam Brightman share first place with Kevin Edwards coming second. A total of £191 was raised for this worthy cause.
