Returning Equipment

Starting from October 21, 2024, we will no longer accept equipment returns without a valid Teledyne Valeport RMA. Please make sure to follow the updated procedure below to avoid delays.

What do you need to do:

  1. Contact Us First: Before returning any equipment, email our Service Contracts Manager at [email protected] Please let us know:
    • Will you be shipping from the UK or overseas?
    • What type of equipment are you returning?
    • If this is your first time returning goods, as we may ask you to fill out a new customer form.
  2. For UK Returns:
    • We can issue the RMA immediately.
    • You need to send the RMA for approval before shipping the equipment.
  3. For Overseas Returns:
    • We’ll send you an unnumbered RMA form for you to provide information about the products you wish to return an your company name details.
    • Using the information provided, we will inform you of the values and HS codes that we will use to import your goods. To expedite the process, it would help to use this information on your commercial invoice.
    • Our advisory values will be based on the age of the equipment.
    • We will issue you with an RMA number and ask you to provide us with a copy of your commercial invoice for review before you send the goods.
    • Please note that if you are not consigning directly to Teledyne Valeport Ltd and chose delivery to a UK airport only, we can only accept consignments at LHR or ABZ.
  4. Using the Correct RMA Form:
    • Always use the correct RMA form which can be found here. If you have an old form saved, please delete it.
  5. Export License Control:
    • If your equipment is under Export License Control, there will be a field on the RMA to indicate this.

What will happen if you don't follow the procedure?

  • If a Customs Clearance request is made without a valid RMA number on the Commercial Invoice or Air Waybill (AWB), we will ask the carrier to hold the goods at Customs. This could lead to storage charges for you.
  • If UK returns are sent without an RMA, we cannot start any work until the RMA is completed and returned to us, which may also incur storage charges.
