Teledyne Valeport Celebrates Rob’s Record-Breaking Success at DTL Championships

Teledyne Valeport is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our CNC Programmer/Operator Rob, who shoots clay targets competitively and recently delivered a career-best performance at the DTL Home International and British Open DTL Championship weekend, held at Glenmoriston Shooting Ground in Scotland.

Representing England for the fourth time, Rob shot two consecutive perfect scores of 100/300 – an exceptional feat achieved by only a select few in the history of these prestigious events.

His precision and consistency earned him a collection of accolades.

The first 100/300 at the DTL Home International was enough to win the event outright with no shoot-off, and Rob picked up:

  • England Senior High Gun
  • England Overall High Gun
  • Seniors High Gun of Match
  • Overall High Gun of Match

While the England Seniors team narrowly missed winning their team event (Scotland beat them by 2 points!), the combined efforts across all categories secured England the title of Overall Winning Country, a triumph marked by the awarding of commemorative badges.

Rob’s momentum continued into the British Open DTL Championship the following day, where the second 100/300 put him into a five-way shoot-off for the championship title – 3 of his opponents were England team-mates!

Dropping just 1 point in the round of 25 targets, he narrowly missed the top spot and went into a second shoot-off to decide overall 2nd and 3rd place. This time, after an 84-target contest, Rob secured 3rd Overall, adding to his growing list of accolades:

  • England High Gun over 2 Days
  • Seniors High Gun over 2 Days
  • Overall High Gun over 2 Days
  • Governor General’s Trophy Winner (with the England Senior Team)

Reflecting on the weekend, Rob shared, “It’s been my best weekend of shooting to date, so all I can say is that the form is good!”

Rob now sets his sights on the European DTL Championships in France, taking place from 14–17 August. We wish him continued success and are proud to support his journey at the highest levels of competitive shooting
