Hyperion32

Teledyne Valeport Water’s Hyperion32 range of Fluorometers delivers high performance measurements for a whole host of parameters in a compact & robust package. Ideal as a standalone sensor or used as part of a multi-sensor array with a data logger and/or a telemetry system for remote operations.

Presented in a virtually indestructible, titanium housing, the ‘32 can be deployed to a depth of up to 50 m. An optional sensor guard is available to further protect the optics. The ‘32 offers an industry leading dynamic range with no adjustment of gain settings required.

The Hyperion optical sensors offer a versatile range of parameters designed to support a wide variety of environmental monitoring applications.

  • Chlorophyll‑a: Measures phytoplankton biomass and primary productivity, providing a key indicator of ecosystem health.
  • Phycocyanin: Targets cyanobacteria (blue‑green algae), supporting early detection and monitoring of harmful algal blooms.
  • Fluorescein: A widely used tracer dye for tracking water movement, flow pathways, and dispersion in environmental studies.
  • Sulforhodamine B: A fluorescent dye used in similar tracer applications, particularly suited to studying mixing, dilution, and transport processes.
  • Rhodamine: A highly sensitive tracer for monitoring currents, leakage, and water transport in coastal and inland environments.
  • Crude Oil: Detects hydrocarbon presence, enabling monitoring of contamination events and supporting spill response activities.
  • fDOM (Fluorescent Dissolved Organic Matter): Provides insight into organic material in the water, acting as a sensitive indicator of water quality and environmental change.
  • Turbidity: Measures suspended particles in the water, indicating clarity, sediment load, and overall water quality.

Hyperion supports a wide range (9-28V DC) isolated power supply, data output up to 16Hz and RS232, RS485 and Modbus RTU communication protocols available, The ‘32 offers compatibility with many industry standard dataloggers and telemetry systems. Flexible and adaptable to meet your project requirements.
