RECENT DEVELOPMENTS

The Best Just Got Better

It is no secret that the Valeport Digital Time of Flight Sound Velocity Sensor has been at the head of the field for some years now; as well as performance levels that are second to none, it is now widely accepted as THE standard in the industry, being fitted regularly to various military vessels around the world as well as being used by most of the survey companies, ROV operators, multibeam manufacturers and underwater positioning specialists.

We have now taken the sensor a step further; improved sampling techniques and changes to the timing circuit now allow us to claim (and demonstrate) accuracy levels of just ±0.020m/s, as well as data rates of up to 60Hz, all with virtually no signal noise. Additionally, we have increased the operating range to cover all known oceanographic environments - previously we had to offer special versions for use in the Dead Sea or the Marianas Trench - now that capability comes as standard. Perpetual Warranty Scheme

We recently launched our new 12 month Service Warranty program; from now on, ANY instrument that we service will be returned to you with a 12 month warranty, identical in all but duration to the standard 36 month warranty you get with a new instrument. What this means is:

  • If you regularly return your instrument to us for servicing, it is perpetually under warranty;

  • If you have an old instrument, you can return it to us for service, and get a brand new 12 month warranty on it.

Why have we introduced this scheme? Because we are confident in the reliability of our instruments, and the quality of work performed by our service technicians. And if we are confident in them, shouldn't you be as well? The instrument will be returned to you as close to "new" as we can make it, with the latest versions of firmware and software, all o-rings, seals and connectors checked and replaced as necessary and a pressure test certificate.

Please contact our service department for full details, or to book your instrument in for a service.
